The GameCycle at Walter Reed and in VA Medical Centers Nationwide
In 2005, Walter Reed Army Medical Center purchased a GameCycle to provide a novel upper body exercise outlet for the soldiers that they serve. In the years that have followed, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and other miliatry facilities have followed Walter Reed's lead.
The VA has placed over 30 GameCycles in VA Clinics across the country, many of which are part of their Spinal Cord Injury Units and their Polytrauma Program for wounded soldiers returning from the current conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. Why? Because the GameCycle offers a unique set of compelling rehabilitation benefits: The GameCycle and its video game interface:

- Encourage compliance with rehab routines.
- Facilitate exercise/cardiovascular benefits.
